Collection page

The Collection Page section controls how products are displayed when customers browse a collection on your store.
It plays a key role in product discovery, filtering, and overall shopping experience.

This guide walks you through where to find the Collection Page section and how to customize it effectively.

1. How do I control the layout and number of products?

The layout settings let you control how many products appear and how they’re arranged.
- You can enable full-width, set Color scheme, products per page, choose the number of columns for desktop and mobile, and select a pagination style such as "Link", "Load more", or "Infinite scroll".

2. Can I customize product cards?

Product card settings affect how each product looks.
You can adjust the image ratio, show or hide the vendor name to give customers more visual context.

3. How do I enable filters and sorting?

Filters and sorting help customers narrow down products quickly.

- Enable filtering to use options managed by the Search & Discovery app, choose how filters appear on desktop, and turn on sorting so customers can reorder products by price, popularity, or newest items.

4. What filter layouts are available on the Collection page?

Choose how filters are displayed on desktop.

You can select one of the following Desktop filter layouts:

  • Horizontal

  • Vertical

  • Drawer: Filters are hidden inside a slide-out drawer and opened by a button.
This is also the default layout on mobile.

5. What does “Filter price behavior” do?

Control when products update after customers change the price range.

You can choose one of the following options:

  • Auto update when change price
Products update instantly as soon as the price range is adjusted.
Best for a smooth, real-time filtering experience.

  • When user click button filter price
Products update only after the customer clicks the Filter button.
Useful if you want customers to set an exact price range before applying it.

6. How do I set up color swatches in collections?

Color swatches can be displayed in different styles and behaviors.

- You can choose the swatch shape, limit how many colors are shown, and decide what happens when users click View more colors—either expand all colors or go directly to the product page.

Note: Color swatches appear only for products with properly configured color variants or metafields. You can view this doc.

7. How do product badges work (New, Sale, Sold out)?

Badges help highlight product status.

- You can enable badges for New, On sale, Sold out, or Pre-order products, and customize how sale badges appear (text or percentage).

This option will control how the vendor link behaves on product cards.

  • Enabled
The vendor link is replaced with a link to a collection that has the same name as the vendor.

Requirement: A collection with the vendor’s name must already exist.

  • Disabled
The vendor name links to the default vendor collection page (Shopify’s vendor-based collection)

9. What happens if I enable “Remove collection URL”?

Improve URL structure for SEO purposes.

  • When enabled, the collection name is removed from product URLs, resulting in cleaner and shorter links.
