The Age verification section displays a pop-up modal to restrict access to the store based on the visitor's age. It enables merchants selling age-restricted products to verify customer eligibility through date-of-birth inputs or direct confirmation buttons before granting site access.
1. Age verification settings
Click the section name to see the section settings on the right-hand sidebar.
1.1 General settings
Use the general settings to control the popup's appearance, verification requirements, and re-display behavior.
Color scheme: Select the color scheme for the verification popup window.
Require date of birth: Toggle this option to require customers to enter their full date of birth (Year, Month, Day) before confirming their age.
Minimum age: Set the minimum required age for visitors to access the website (e.g., 18).
Show again after: Set the number of days to wait before displaying the age verification popup again to returning visitors.
Action after cancellation: Choose what happens when a visitor declines or cancels the age verification:
Stay on the current page: Keep the visitor on the current page while maintaining the restricted view.
Redirect to another URL: Redirect unauthorized visitors to an external URL or specified page.
1.2 Content
Use the content settings to customize text labels, headings, inputs, and confirmation messages inside the popup.
Heading: Enter the primary title for the verification popup (e.g., Age verification).
Description: Add instructional text explaining the age restriction requirements to the customer.
Verify button label: Enter the text for the primary confirmation button (e.g., I am over 18).
Exit button: Enter the label for the cancellation or decline button (e.g., Cancel).
Message: Add supplementary compliance notes or legal disclaimers below the action buttons.
Year: Set the placeholder text for the year selection field.
Month: Set the placeholder text for the month selection field.
Day: Set the placeholder text for the day selection field.
